Who I am When I'm Alone

In my room, with my books. I started collecting books just recently. I enjoyed it, and I quite get addicted to it. When I read, it makes my time worthwhile, it helps me think a lot without any stress. Something is drawn out from me, leaving me a "light" feeling. It makes me want to stay, indulge, and savor each lines. I don't know why, I feel that I'm someone new after I read. Naive, blossomed, stronger.

In another room, watching TV. The commonest of all past time there is. When I was a kid, I use to watch my favorite shows, no other than all shows in ABS-CBN, because I have no choice. With blurry black & white TV in our home, it is the only network available with good signal. No wonder why up to this time, I'm truly a Kapamilya. All the soap opera's and TV series was closely followed daily. On weekends, however, teen series like Gimik, Tabing-Ilog and ASAP was my favorite. There I developed a big crush on Patrick Garcia (I have no idea why I'm writing this right now). That was then, and now, watching TV is considered as "singit" only to any available time I have. The good thing is, there is still ASAP XV and some intriguing shows such as The Buzz, SNN, PBB, etc. I avoid watching news as much as possible, it's very draining and it's not good to some critical persons like me (hehehe it makes me comment and "ugtas" a lot). Couch potato. Carefree. Unsophisticated.

In the gym. Yeah, I always find myself alone in this place (because I go there 10 pm hehehe). In my effort to convince everyone to join me, I ended up still alone. Indeed, very few really likes to invest time to do this stuff. Some are not very serious about there health and I wonder why. Everything is urgent and important in this world, but they sometimes forget that it is their physical persona that keeps them going. It is our body that do everything to achieve our goals. This is the greatest gift God has given us. Before, I define healthy as, no fever, low BP, low sugar, no pain in general. When I started going to gym and do a 30-minute thread mill, it changed my life. Now I can walk around the mall without tiring my feet. I can go up stairs without catching my breath. I eat less, I drink a lot of water, I sleep well. Conscious, Disciplined, Healthy.

With my laptop. After I graduated college, my father taught to use money wisely and not to spend more than my earnings. He do not want me to worry over paying bills every 15th and 30th. I am single, I am supposed to be enjoying my salary("Do it when you are married and that you have lots of reason to be financially unbalance", he said). And I did it, I manage not to have a credit card, my cash flow is okay. But, up to now, I cannot say I am financially free. After so much reading and learning from friends, I realized that being just financially okay is not actually okay. Typically born with Pinoy upbringing, go-to-school-and-find-a-good-job is the usual advice parents gave to their kids. And that is the myth the poor are living with up to today. I am one of them, and I am moving on and it's changing. Poor kid. Rich kid.

I can also be alone strolling in the mall, go window shopping for a while, dropped by a bookstore and have a coffee while waiting for a friend. I usually attend the mass also alone.

ALONE, physically.
ALONE, but not lonely.
ALONE, and moving on.
ALONE, with HIM.
